Brown Sugar Cookies!

If you are looking for a fun activity to do with your kids today, try these delicious brown sugar cookies! They are easy to whip up and so tasty! We love making these during the holidays and the best part is decorating them all together!

Ingredients:

-7 tablespoons of unsalted butter (melted)

-1 cup of brown sugar

-2 tablespoons of granulated sugar

-1 2/3 cups of flour

-1 egg

-1/4 teaspoon baking soda

-1/8 teaspoon baking powder

-1/4 salt

-1/2 tablespoon vanilla

-**Extra flour for rolling your dough

Next Step:

-Preheat oven to 350 F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

-In a small bowl, add your melted butter and brown sugar. Mix with a fork until combined.

-Add you vanilla and mix.

-In another bowl add 1 1/2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix with a spoon to combine.

-Add an egg to your wet mixture and stir.

-Pour your wet ingredients into your flour mixture an mix with a hand or stand mixer. Mix until your dough forms. If your dough is too sticky add the remaining 1/3 cup of flour.

-Once your dough has formed, put it on a floured surface and cut in half. Roll your dough to 1/4 inch thick and then cut out using heart shape cookie cutters.

-Place on your cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes. They may look a little pale at first, but that's ok. (You don't want to over bake your cookies.)

-Put your cookies on a cooling rack.

-Once cooled, add a frosting off your choice and sprinkles!

-For my cookies, I used a homemade strawberry frosting and also melted white and dark chocolate chocolate chips. Also, get a lot of fun sprinkles in various shapes!

ENJOY!!
