Dark Chocolate Cups:
-1/2 dark chocolate chips
-balloons (small)
Homemade Chocolate Syrup:
-1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-1/2 cup granulated sugar
-pinch of salt
-1/4 cup cold water
-3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Whipped Cream:
-1 pint heavy whipping cream
-1/4 cup powdered sugar
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
-Vanilla Bean ice cream
-Red sprinkles
Next Step:
-Start with making the homemade chocolate sauce. Add the cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and water to a pot on the stovetop. Set the temperature to low and whisk until combined. Once it starts to lightly simmer, whisk for 1 minute and then remove from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the chocolate syrup into a glass jar with a lid and place in the refrigerator. (Once cooled, it will need to be stirred)
-Preheat oven to 350 F and add parchment paper to an 8x8 baking dish.
-In a medium size bowl combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder. Mix with a spoon to combine. Set aside.
-In another bowl with a hand or stand mixer, combine the sugar and butter.
-Add in the eggs and mix to combine.
-Pour in the melted chocolate and mix.
-Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter/sugar/egg mixture. Mix.
-Fold in the chocolate chips. The batter will be thick.
-Spoon the batter into your 8x8 baking dish and spread out to form an even layer. I like to add a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking.
-Bake at 350 for 23 minutes.
-Take out and let rest for 1 hour.
-While the brownies are cooling. Melt 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Blow up the balloons and tie at the end. Gently dip the top of the balloon into the melted chocolate and try and fully coat the top and sides to form your chocolate bowl. Let any extra chocolate drip off and then place the balloon (tie side down) into a coffee mug.
-Place them in the refrigerator to cool and set.
-Next make the whipped cream by combining the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extra into a cold bowl. Mix on medium speed until high peaks form. Place into the refrigerator until ready to serve.
-When the brownies are completely cooled, use a heart shape cookie cutter to cut out the brownies.
-Next, take out the chocolate balloon molds from the refrigerator and gently pop the balloons. Remove any remaining balloon and place the chocolate bowl on a plate.
-Then fill the chocolate bowl with whipped cream and place a heart shape brownie on top.
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle the chocolate sauce all over!
-Finish your brownie sundae with red sprinkles on top!
-Enjoy every bite!!! XO and Happy Valentine's Day!!
